The Victorian Era really does not disappoint. This ravishing ring reminds us why it’s one of the best time periods for gorgeous adornment.

This ring was crafted at the very tail end of the Victorian era. How do we know that? The inscription on the inside of the band says: “J.H. to L.A.N. July 30th 1901”. In fact, 1901 was the very last year of the Victorian Era, which spanned an astounding 63 years. The Era was so long that it is typically broken into three distinct periods, the last of which was called the Late Victorian or Aesthetic period from 1885 until 1901. It was inspired by the Aesthetic Movement that looked to the natural world for ideas. Designs tended toward the more lighthearted and delicate. That accounts for the lovely lacey pattern and those perfect, well-matched stones. Those juicy rubies and bright-as-day diamonds are quite a sight to behold.

We know for sure that “L.A.N” was undoubtedly a special person to receive such a sweet token of love from “J.H.”. A lasting tribute of a romance that lives well beyond those who gave it life.
